The Montclair Skatepark is a relatively small skatepark but is a great park for both beginners and advanced skateboarders. There are really only 2 areas at the skatepark a nice mellow flow section to warm up in or for skaters to learn the basics of skateboarding and a combination bowl. The combination bowl is really 2 bowl runs connected by a long spine that runs between the bowls.
The bowl on the southside of the spine is 3' to 5' in the shallow with nice corners and on the high wall escalators on both sides. The shallow leads into a keyhole that is about 10' deep with a foot of vert in most spots and rides very similar to the big bowl in the Fontana combination bowl but the bowl holds you in much better than the one at Fontana.
The bowl to the north of the spine is about 4' in the shallow and leads into a somewhat square bowl that is about 7 to 8 ft deep. This bowl run does not flow too well from shallow to deep as it has a small annoying waterfall that breaks up your speed coming back from the deep.
The spine between the 2 bowl runs is quite long an actually wraps into about a 2' section of the keyhole on the south. Some skaters have put up some red taped arrows pointing to the spine so be sure to check them or you may find yourself popping over the spine thinking you are popping out to the platform.
Bottom Line
I really like the Montclair Skatepark. My favorite part of the skatepark is the bowl run on the south side of the park and the flow section. The flow section is a blast to fly through if the park is not too crowded. The park is well suited for the beginning skateboarder and advanced skateboarder so go check it out for yourself.
One more thing, thanks to the Tony Hawk Foundation and the local skateboarders in the Montclair area for helping make this skatepark a success!

Skateparks are becoming more common as Skateboarding grows as a sport in Southern California. A Skatepark Directory such as SoCal Skateparks can help you to find the best Skateboard Parks in Southern California. We have put this Skatepark Directory together so that skateboarders in Southern California can find skateboard parks easier. Skateparks are important to the foundation of skateboarding. In order for skateparks to remain vibrant in SoCal we have to do our best to make sure that the skateparks that are built here are going to be skateparks that our children will want to skate 20 years from now. We want this to be your first choice skatepark directory and hope that all of the skateparks listed here will help you to find your way.
