This park wouldnt have been possible without Mike McIntyre & Colby Carter from Site Design Group!

Over 40,000 sq ft of skateable space, the etnies Skatepark Of Lake Forest is one of the largest public skateparks in the nation! Even though one of the great things about the park is its enormous size, what really seperates this park from any other park in the world is the unbelievable roster of pros that designed it. etnies not only enlisted some of their top pros like Arto Saari, Ryan Sheckler, Fabrizio Santos, and Mike Vallely to help design the park, but also turned to éS and Emerica, the other two shoe brands under the sole technology umbrella, for their pros ideas as well. With everyone from Eric Koston and P.J. Ladd to Andrew Reynolds and Erik Ellington chipping in, the etnies skatepark has become one of the most diverse parks anywhere in the world and features something for everyone.

Here's the breakdown:

Etnies Skate Plaza

The Plaza

The plaza features a huge area of open space with ledges and flat rails of various sizes scattered throughout it. In the center of the plaza sits a small trannied manhole cover that sits about 8 inches from the ground, but offers up some serious snaps. The Plaza also features a double set with a nice sized Hubba Ledge, as well as a hearty sized round rail down a huge 12 stair with a smaller flat rail down the same set that leads into the street course. Damn!

Etnies Street Course

The Street Course

The street course is perfectly designed for any tech dog. It was designed to be very linear (back and forth) and features perfect sized funboxes (Tampa Size) with manual blocks, flat bars, ledges and a concrete picnic table perfectly centered on one of the funboxes. The Street Course also has features a bank to curb with a true to street bank to wall on the opposite side that dumps into a 9ft trannied vert wall and into huge 6 ft rollers that lead into the flow course.

Etnies Flow Course

The Flow Course

The Flow Course is designed for high speed runs that will lead you in and around fast corners and perfect hips. There are 3 Rollers throughout the flow course, one of which is 8 ft tall and is in the shape of Darth Vaders helmet. This thing is huge and will catapult you anywhere in the course. This includes up to a two sized pyramid that was designed to be hit from anywhere in the flow area. Last, but definitely not least, the flow area features a 9ft elbowed vert wall that has been rcently affectionately named by Jimmy The Greek as the "pros nest".

Etnies Combi Bowl

The Combi Bowl

The Combi Bowl is a 6ft to 8ft T-shaped bowl that features some good hips and some fast lines. The Combi also sits next to the "skull" bowl for some hefty transfers.

Etnies Skull Bowl

The Skull Bowl

The Skull Bowl was partially designed by skate legend Garry Scott Davis (GSD). The Bowl was designed to replicate the swimming pools of the late 70's and early 80's and rolls from 6 to 9ft. The bowl is a round skull shape and features perfectly sized pool coping and tile.

Skateparks are becoming more common as Skateboarding grows as a sport in Southern California. A Skatepark Directory such as SoCal Skateparks can help you to find the best Skateboard Parks in Southern California. We have put this Skatepark Directory together so that skateboarders in Southern California can find skateboard parks easier. Skateparks are important to the foundation of skateboarding. In order for skateparks to remain vibrant in SoCal we have to do our best to make sure that the skateparks that are built here are going to be skateparks that our children will want to skate 20 years from now. We want this to be your first choice skatepark directory and hope that all of the skateparks listed here will help you to find your way.
