| Review: | The Pedlow Skatepark re-opened with Phase II in May 2005. The new features added are a long winding snake run that leads into a 6 1/2 bowl and a wide open pool with tile and coping. Pedlow Skatepark Pool
The pool is wide open and has a mellow shallow end and a deep end that is 9.5' to 10' deep. There are tons of lines and working the deep end is not a problem. The coping is set perfectly and the trannys are great. The shallow has a huge roll-in where closing out the pool with a nice shallow would probably be a better idea. All in all a fun pool and will be a great pool for the locals to advance their pool skating. The pool really reminded me of an old 70's skatepark pool similar to the old Vista Skatepark keyhole and wide open like the Dog Bowl at Marina. As good as the Dog Bowl, no, but still good. If the shallow end was as good as the deep end the pool would have been killer!! Pedlow Snake (bowl) Run
The snake run is not a true snake run but is fun to go down high speed. Once you hit the bowl you can make it all the way back up it you are going fast enough. You can ride the run like a tight half-pipe. The run is all steel coping and ranges from about 1' to 5' deep with some vert sections.
The old section of the skatepark features some nice looking 4' banks with rounded lips that are within the reservoir section but the cement is slow, the flow is difficult at best, and the transitions are lousy. In phase II which opened in May of 2005 they did add a nice small half-pipe section that is about 3 1/2 deep and the trannys are smooth compared to the rest of the old sections of the park
Bottom Line: If you are a pool skater it is worth going to check out the new pool. I really liked it and so I leave it up to you to check it out and see if it is worthy to visit more than once.. The new skate-run is by no means a reason to travel to this park and the old section of the park is definately not something to go out of your way to skate.

Skateparks are becoming more common as Skateboarding grows as a sport in Southern California. A Skatepark Directory such as SoCal Skateparks can help you to find the best Skateboard Parks in Southern California. We have put this Skatepark Directory together so that skateboarders in Southern California can find skateboard parks easier. Skateparks are important to the foundation of skateboarding. In order for skateparks to remain vibrant in SoCal we have to do our best to make sure that the skateparks that are built here are going to be skateparks that our children will want to skate 20 years from now.
